Black Flame Medical has secured A+ funding to advance its integrated 3D printing digital medical solutions.

Shanghai Black Flame Medical Technology Co., Ltd., a company in the medical 3D printing sector, has completed its A+ round of financing, with Dongxing Capital acting as the investor. This A+ round continues the company's track record of securing high-quality capital. Historically, the company received Series A funding of tens of millions of RMB from Sacred Mountain Capital in 2021.
It is reported that Shanghai Black Flame Medical Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2017 and is headquartered in Minhang District, Shanghai. The company is a comprehensive digital medical solution provider integrating equipment, materials, software, and technical services. It specializes in the application and development of 3D printing technology in the medical field, with products covering clinical stages such as preoperative planning, intraoperative navigation, postoperative rehabilitation, and personalized customization, as well as the field of implantable consumables.
Black Flame Medical has achieved a closed-loop of core proprietary technologies spanning from software to hardware, and provides comprehensive medical empowerment from products to systems. The company has built the Inno-surge Platform, a full-process digital-intelligent solution ecosystem for the perioperative period. Currently, Black Flame Medical operates 116 medical 3D printing production devices, including SLA light-curing 3D printing equipment, DLP light-curing 3D printing equipment, polymer powder laser sintering 3D printing equipment, metal powder laser sintering 3D printing equipment, and various FDM 3D printing equipment.

The company holds 50 authorized invention patents and utility model patents, 19 software copyrights, and has undertaken 115 scientific research projects. It has participated in the formulation of six industry standards, covering areas such as additive manufacturing patient-matched artificial temporomandibular joints, design input requirements for additive manufacturing implants, and additive manufacturing patient-matched craniomaxillofacial bone plates.

Black Flame Medical's full-process digital-intelligent medical solution for the perioperative period covers 15+ clinical departments and 88+ surgical procedures. It provides technical support to over 50 individualized digital medical engineering centers, collaborates with more than 150 medical-engineering interaction engineers, has offered digital technical support for over 100,000 cases, and has assisted these centers in winning 46 awards.

Currently, Black Flame Medical focuses on nine major R&D directions with 20 products in the pipeline. Additionally, the company is dedicated to R&D in the fields of bioprinting and AI algorithm software, boasting extensive research experience in biological scaffolds, organ-on-a-chip technologies, and the printing of tissue and organ units.

The company has jointly established several research centers, including the East China University of Science and Technology–Black Flame Medical Joint R&D Center for Medical Devices, the Shanghai University Nanoscience and Technology Research Center–Black Flame Medical Joint Research Center for Biomedical Nanomaterials, and the Hunan University–Black Flame Medical Joint Research Center for Bioprinting. It is also a co-construction unit of the Shanghai Engineering Research Center for Innovative Orthopedic Devices and Personalized Medicine, and an innovation R&D center under the Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital Group's Digital Technology Professional Service Platform for Oral and Craniomaxillofacial Applications.

On June 26, 2025, the unveiling ceremony for the "AI Design and Precision Bionic Manufacturing Innovation Base" and the "Digital Medical 3D Printing Innovation and Transformation Center" (hereinafter referred to as the "Center"), jointly established by the Children's Hospital of Fudan University and Black Flame Medical Group, was grandly held at the Children's Hospital of Fudan University. The establishment of this innovation and transformation center marks a new stage in the deep integration of precision medicine and digital healthcare, providing smarter and more personalized solutions for the diagnosis and treatment of complex and critical pediatric diseases nationwide.
