The October 23 integration connects AI-assisted modeling, mesh checks and slicing while leaving the final print command to the user.

Developer Marco Franzon added Hermes Agent compatibility to print3d on October 23, extending an open-source workflow that prepares Bambu Studio projects from AI-assisted modeling. The integration is recorded in the project’s public commit history.

An agent writes a Blender script, and print3d runs the model through mesh checks and Bambu Studio slicing. The resulting 3MF project is handed to the user. The software does not communicate with a printer or start a physical print. Its documented configuration targets a Bambu Lab X2D with a 0.4 mm nozzle.

The workflow also supports reconstruction from photographs with a known scale. That capability predates the Hermes integration: the photo workflow was merged on October 18. Matching a photographed outline does not establish a replacement part’s strength or functional suitability.

The repository uses the MIT license. Blender 4.2 or later and Bambu Studio are required.
