The October 23 test release revises tool-change paths and multi-material warnings, with a compatibility notice for 3MF files opened in older versions.

Snapmaker has made Orca 2.4.1 Beta available for testing, according to its October 23 forum announcement and GitHub pre-release. The update focuses on preparing multi-material prints and improving slicer behavior.

Tool changes can now route the extruder around the prime tower and through an opening in its outer wall. The release also groups tower materials by adhesion type and adds internal ribs, with additional interface controls exposed in Developer mode.

Support checks flag certain Organic/Lightning combinations and non-default PLA/PETG support patterns. A minimum contact-area setting controls whether support interfaces are generated. New top/bottom paint-penetration controls determine how far painted regions extend into infill, addressing color bleed-through between dark and light filaments.

On Windows, an optional uninstall setting can remove personal data; it is unchecked by default. Snapmaker also warns that opening a 3MF created in 2.4.1 with an older version can trigger an error prompt.

The release remains a Beta, rather than a stable-release announcement. These are developer-reported changes; no independent physical printing test is claimed here.
