Partnership with FLEETWERX and Naval Postgraduate School Highlights Expeditionary Additive Manufacturing Capabilities

nScrypt, a leader in high-precision 3D printing and micro-dispensing systems, demonstrated its forward-deployed manufacturing capabilities during Trident Warrior 2025, the U.S. Navy’s flagship Fleet experimentation exercise.
In partnership with FLEETWERX and the Naval Postgraduate School’s Consortium for Advanced Manufacturing Research and Education (CAMRE), nScrypt joined more than 20 organizations supporting the Joint Advanced Manufacturing Cell (JAMC) — the largest distributed manufacturing initiative in Department of Defense (DoD) history.
As part of the exercise, nScrypt deployed its nRugged system, a portable, high-precision 3D manufacturing platform engineered for austere and remote environments. The company showcased point-of-need manufacturing applications, including printed circuit board repair, illustrating how advanced additive manufacturing can reduce repair timelines, enhance mission readiness, and improve sustainment and logistics in disconnected settings.
“nScrypt is proud to help demonstrate what’s possible when advanced manufacturing moves from the lab to the field,” said Dr. Kenneth Church, CEO of nScrypt. “The nRugged proves that mission-ready manufacturing can happen anywhere—helping the Fleet stay operational and resilient wherever the mission takes them.”
FLEETWERX, a DEFENSEWERX innovation hub partnered with the Naval Postgraduate School, played a central role in connecting industry, academia, and government partners to accelerate the transition of emerging technologies like nScrypt’s into operational use.
“Small businesses with innovative solutions play a key role in pushing the boundaries of advanced manufacturing in contested environments,” said Morgan Bower, Associate Director at FLEETWERX. “By putting state-of-the-art tools in the hands of the warfighter today, their feedback helps inform innovation and increase readiness.”
Directed by the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific, the Trident Warrior series brings together warfighters, technologists, and industry innovators to evaluate emerging technologies in live maritime environments—accelerating their adoption across the Fleet.
