In August 2026, Nike teamed up with additive manufacturing specialist Zellerfeld to launch a brand-new 3D-printed sneaker.

The prototype was first revealed by Blue Room designer Motoi Hatsuki, showcasing a sleek, monochrome silhouette. It features a one-piece 3D-printed structure that completely eliminates stitching and overlays, resulting in a minimalist slip-on profile that’s clean and sharp.
The design draws inspiration from the Air Max 1000 and Tailwind V, with exaggerated heel and forefoot Air cushions that really stand out—especially the glowing neon-yellow unit at the rear, which brings a futuristic vibe. On the side, paisley-style loop patterns add a decorative touch to the otherwise simple upper, while the Nike branding stays deliberately understated, letting the experimental texture and form take center stage.
This sneaker is part of Nike’s broader “Air Works” program, which invites eight global creatives to Beaverton to co-create with the brand’s engineers. Each participant will receive a limited friends-and-family edition of their own concept shoe, with more preview images rolling out gradually before Air Max Day 2027.
The 3D-printing wave in the sneaker world is clearly gaining momentum—and it doesn’t look like it’s slowing down anytime soon.
