On-site report by 3DPtimes. On December 24, the 2025 Additive Manufacturing Industry Development Forum and Annual Conference opened in the Xiong’an New Area. This year’s annual conference, themed "Forging New Quality Productive Forces in Additive Manufacturing," was hosted by the Equipment Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Management Committee of Hebei Xiong’an New Area. It was organized by the China Additive Manufacturing Industry Alliance, the Industry-Information Technology, Science and Technology, and Data Bureau of Xiong’an New Area, the Management Committee of Xiong’an High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, the Management Committee of Xiong’an New Area Science Park, and other units. The event aimed to provide an in-depth interpretation of national strategic directions, analyze global industry shifts, gain insights into cutting-edge technological advancements, and collaboratively chart a new blueprint for the high-quality development of the additive manufacturing industry.
Attendees included Su Bo, Deputy Director of the National Manufacturing Strategy Advisory Committee, former Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Advisor to the China Additive Manufacturing Industry Alliance; Wang Huaming, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Deputy Director of the Expert Committee of the China Additive Manufacturing Industry Alliance; Lu Ruiyang, First-Level Investigator of the Intelligent Manufacturing Division of the Department of Equipment Industry I, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Yao Zhenzhi, Deputy Director of the Equipment Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Secretary-General of the China Additive Manufacturing Industry Alliance; Fu Jingguang, Deputy Director of the Industrial Development Promotion Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Ji Feng, Director of the Human Resources Development Institute of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Promotion Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Hao Lixiao, Deputy Party Secretary, Vice Director, and First-Level Inspector of the Hebei Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology; Yu Guoyi, Member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Xiong’an New Area; as well as over 300 representatives from upstream and downstream units of the additive manufacturing industry chain, industry organizations, and experts from domestic and international universities and research institutions. The opening ceremony of the annual conference was presided over by Yao Zhenzhi, Deputy Director of the Equipment Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Secretary-General of the China Additive Manufacturing Industry Alliance.
In his address, Yu Guoyi stated that additive manufacturing technology is evolving rapidly, with its application scenarios continuously expanding in high-end equipment, aerospace, biomedicine, and other fields. Additive manufacturing is now facing unprecedented development opportunities. Xiong’an New Area offers the most inclusive innovation environment, the most favorable policy support, and the broadest application scenarios, serving as both a "testing ground" for the additive manufacturing industry and a "transformation hub" for innovative achievements. He expressed the hope that this event would serve as a bond to jointly tackle technological barriers, improve standard systems, and expand the industrial scale, all while contributing to the national agenda from the foundation laid in Xiong’an.
In addition to the opening ceremony and main forum, this conference focused on advancing the additive manufacturing industry during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, bringing together stakeholders from across the industry. A series of events were held, including the Symposium on Synergistic Development of the Additive Manufacturing Industrial Chain, the Additive Manufacturing Industry Research Tour (Xiong'an Station), and two specialized forums on "Technological Innovation and Cutting-Edge Applications" and "Ecosystem Development and Globalization of Additive Manufacturing."
Based on emerging trends in the additive manufacturing industry during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, the conference delved into the current landscape, challenges, and future directions. Discussions centered on technological innovation, application expansion, and globalization, exploring strategies and measures to drive the high-quality development of the additive manufacturing industry. By fostering collaboration among government, industry, academia, research institutions, and financial entities, the conference aimed to inject strong momentum into the industry’s sustainable and high-quality growth.
