Artists utilize digital design and 3D printing technology to transform parametrically designed virtual configurations into physical reality, creating an immersive experience.

Future-focused design studio DEOND, founded by Ross Lovegrove and Ila Colombo, will unveil a new robotic 3D-printed installation, "Exsalted," at Dubai Design Week 2025. Sponsored by fragrance leader MANE, the project explores the connection between geometry, light, and multi-sensory experience.

"Exsalted" features a parametric design of interlocking triangular modules, creating a crystalline, origami-like form. Made from semi-translucent, 3D-printed recycled plastic, the structure filters light to produce a mineral-rich, immersive atmosphere.

The collaboration with MANE integrates subtle scent layers, inspiring a design that unfolds like a fragrance—from its geometric first impression to its lasting structural memory. Over 98% of the installation is made from robotically 3D-printed recycled plastic, and it is designed for easy disassembly and reuse.

"Exsalted" will be on display from November 4-9, 2025, in the Dubai Design District.
