Canadian brand PrintDry has launched its next-generation filament dryer, the PRO4, featuring a modular design and a built-in real-time humidity sensor—offering professional-grade performance at a desktop-friendly price point.

The PRO4's standout feature is its modular expandability: the base unit can be expanded with additional modules, allowing multiple spools to be dried simultaneously while also accommodating large spools weighing up to 5 kg. Whether in a workshop or for high-throughput continuous printing, the setup meets the demand.
On the technical side, the PRO4 reaches a maximum drying temperature of 85°C, effectively drying engineering-grade filaments such as nylon and PVC—materials that struggle to release moisture at lower temperatures. For the first time in this product line, it features a built-in real-time humidity sensor, giving users a clear readout of the relative humidity inside the drying chamber and making it easy to track the drying progress.
The heater has been completely redesigned and now pairs with double-walled side panels to retain heat more effectively. In official tests, the chamber's humidity dropped from above 60% to below 15% in under five minutes. Moreover, an optimized airflow ensures a more even distribution of warm air throughout the chamber.
Practical feature: While printing, filament can be fed directly from the PRO4 into the printer, preventing reabsorption of ambient moisture. This is especially beneficial for highly hygroscopic materials and significantly improves print quality.
The PRO4 is currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter.
