3D Systems announced on October 29, 2026 that it had donated a NextDent 300 MultiJet 3D printer to Remote Area Medical (RAM), a U.S. nonprofit, to expand free denture services for underserved and uninsured patients.

According to the announcement, the printer is installed and operating at RAM's facility in Knoxville, Tennessee. RAM plans to integrate it into its newest mobile dental laboratory once that unit is completed. Current use at the fixed facility and the planned mobile deployment are separate stages.

For context, the announcement reports that RAM served 32,770 patients in 2025, supported by more than 17,000 volunteers, and provided over US$16.6 million in free healthcare. These organization-wide figures predate this donation.

Digital dentures and the next deployment stage

The NextDent 300 uses MultiJet technology to print teeth and gums together as a monolithic denture. The manufacturer says this digital workflow can simplify labor-intensive manufacturing steps. Actual efficiency and outcomes depend on the workflow; the announcement provides no quantified increase in denture output attributable to this donation.

RAM previously used a NextDent 5100 to provide dentures. The donation expands the use of additive manufacturing in charitable dental care. Progress on the mobile laboratory and the number of patients served will be useful indicators to follow.
