The 5th Aerospace Additive Manufacturing Conference, held from October 22nd to 24th, 2025, in Minhang District, Shanghai, successfully convened under the theme "Additive Manufacturing: A New Engine for Aerospace, A New Voyage for Green and Intelligent Manufacturing". The event was attended and addressed by Shi Wenlu, Deputy Director of the Technological Progress Department of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, and Zhou Weimin, Vice President of the Shanghai Additive Manufacturing Association. The conference featured presentations and discussions from over 50 industry experts, attracted more than 600 registered industry guests, and was covered by over 50 authoritative industry media outlets, journals, and academic platforms.
In his opening address, Shi Wenlu, Deputy Director of the Technological Progress Department of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, stated that aerospace represents the pinnacle of manufacturing, and additive manufacturing is one of the core technologies leading the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation. Promoting the deep integration of the two is of crucial strategic significance for enhancing China's independent innovation capabilities in the aerospace field and ensuring the security and stability of industrial and supply chains. He noted that additive manufacturing is reshaping the landscape of aerospace manufacturing with unprecedented depth and breadth, spanning from the development of new materials to smart manufacturing solutions and full-lifecycle green management. He expressed his hope that the conference would serve as a "weather vane" for building strategic consensus, an "accelerator" for driving technological innovation, and a "connector" for promoting industrial application. He affirmed that the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization will continue to support the development of the aerospace and additive manufacturing industries, striving to create a first-class business environment and provide precise policy services to safeguard the development of various innovation entities in Shanghai.
Zhou Weimin, Vice President of the Shanghai Additive Manufacturing Association, stated in his speech that the Aerospace Additive Manufacturing Conference has always adhered to the purpose of "promoting innovation, linking industries, building ecosystems, and focusing on application", committed to building a high-level exchange platform in the field of aerospace additive manufacturing. He expressed delight that this platform has become an important stage for industry experts to exchange ideas, integrate technologies, and achieve win-win cooperation, as well as a key window for China's additive manufacturing capabilities to reach the world. This year's conference responded to the higher demands placed on aerospace manufacturing in the new era – not only pursuing ultimate performance and reliability but also shouldering the industry responsibility for green, intelligent, and sustainable development. He expressed belief that additive manufacturing is not only a revolution in manufacturing technology but also a "new engine" promoting the lightweight, integrated, and efficient development of aerospace equipment, and a "new voyage" leading the industry into the era of green and intelligent manufacturing. He looked forward to the conference further building consensus and promoting cooperation through in-depth exchanges, jointly fostering a collaborative ecosystem encompassing the entire industry chain from materials, equipment, and software to inspection certification and end applications.
