Eurovision stage mask highlights advanced 3D printing with BASF (now Stratasys) TPU and HP MJF; White Label blends wearable design with digital fabrication

A custom 3D printed stage mask designed for electronic music artist Gabry Ponte is on display at Formnext as the featured piece at the iAM Marketplace and Stratasys booth. Developed by Milan-based studio White Label, the mask blends wearable design, advanced additive manufacturing, and performance-ready materials to create a futuristic aesthetic for Ponte’s appearance at Eurovision 2025.
The mask was produced using flexible thermoplastic polyurethane from BASF Forward AM (now owned by Stratasys) and printed on an HP Multi Jet Fusion machine. The use of TPU provides the necessary elasticity and impact resistance for high-movement performances, while HP’s MJF process delivers high precision and detailed surface quality. A post-processing step by AMT added a smooth, skin-safe finish, making the mask suitable for extended wear on stage.
White Label, known for its work at the intersection of digital art and industrial design, collaborated with Gabry Ponte and his vocalists to integrate the mask into the visual identity of the performance. The result was a wearable artifact that complemented the show’s narrative of cosmic arrival and transformation.
The mask gained attention during Eurovision 2025 for its minimalist yet striking look, contrasting with more traditional theatrical costumes. Following its debut, images of the design circulated widely across social media, further elevating its visibility within the design and music communities.
The showcase at Formnext reflects growing interest in combining performance art with technical innovation, particularly in the application of additive manufacturing to custom fashion and wearable technologies. The Stratasys and iAM marketplace launch aims to reinforce the role of industrial materials in creative sectors, bridging the gap between entertainment and engineering.
