Hofmann CNC has invested in an Eplus3D EP-M300 dual-laser metal powder bed fusion system, adding metal additive manufacturing to its precision-machining capabilities in Germany, according to Eplus3D’s October 21 announcement.

The collaboration links printing of complex metal geometries with CNC post-processing and finishing. Eplus3D describes the system as the foundation for Hofmann CNC’s expanded manufacturing portfolio, with the production route selected according to each project.

Hofmann CNC is also developing a dedicated application center. The planned facility is intended to let customers and prospective users evaluate metal printing, discuss technology selection and consider integration into existing manufacturing workflows. The announcement does not describe the center as already open.

Medical manufacturing is one area the partners are exploring, alongside broader industrial applications. The release does not establish regulatory clearance, implant qualification or certified medical series production for the new capability.

For Eplus3D, the partnership expands its local application support in Germany through an established machining business. No investment value or application-center opening date was disclosed.
