What the new center can test

Jiangsu Vilory Advanced Materials opened a research and testing center on October 20, 2026 to support alloy development and quality control. The company says the facility covers more than 1,000 square meters and houses more than 10 specialist laboratories. Its more than 40 sets of equipment include a scanning electron microscope, a plasma emission spectrometer and a high-frequency infrared carbon and sulfur analyzer. The facility also supports mechanical testing.

Why consistency matters from lot to lot

A powder specification has to hold across lots. Particle size distribution and particle shape can affect how a recoater spreads powder. A microscope can reveal irregular particles and smaller particles attached to larger ones. Chemical measurements answer a different question by checking whether the material matches its composition limits. Mechanical testing on printed specimens adds evidence about how the material performs under a defined printing process.

How test results can guide production

The business value of the lab will depend on how measurements feed back into production. Consistent sampling and traceable test results can help a supplier spot drift and investigate it before releasing a lot. Vilory’s opening announcement describes equipment and laboratory capacity. Results across successive production lots would show how consistently the supplier can meet a given specification.
