The shoes were unveiled at the star's Skylrk brand pop-up store in Tokyo

Popstar Justin Bieber is making another foray into the world of fashion with his new streetwear brand Skylrk, which last week made its brick-and-mortar debut with a pop-up store in Tokyo, Japan. Among the products launched at the popup was a 3D printed sneaker made in collaboration with footwear platform Zellerfeld. The shoes, called Earth Bender, have a profile not dissimilar to a soccer cleat and come in a flashy lilac color.
Zellerfeld, as many of our readers will know, is a factory and platform that is making it possible for shoe designers to bring their 3D visions to life, from small design studios to large brands like Nike and Havaianas. The latest designer to make use of their AM resources and know-how is Bieber, who launched Skylrk in collaboration with designer Neima Khaila back in July.
At the recent pop-up in Tokyo, the brand debuted a number of products, including beach slides, socks, eyewear, and hoodies. However, the product that has gained the most attention is the Earth Bender shoe, a 3D printed slip-on sneaker. The shoe itself integrates a range of different textures, including mesh-like panels along the sides, and, like most of Zellerfeld’s shoes, is made from one piece. Notably, the shoe has a slimmer profile than Zellerfeld’s other models, with one reviewer noting that they have less cushioning than other 3D printed Zellerfeld shoes. As far as we know, the 3D printed Earth Bender shoes were exclusively available at the pop-up store last week and they are not listed on Skylrk’s website.
VoxelMatters has been following Zellerfeld’s evolution since its launch in 2019, and its collaborations with huge brands like Nike and now stars like Bieber signal its growing relevance in the broader footwear market. Notably, the company recently launched a new 3D printing system, the GEN3, which the company says will take it from producing thousands of pairs of shoes to millions thanks to increased printing speeds, multi-color readiness, and greater automation.
