The November 4 sustainability update sets operational targets and adds climate-risk analysis, while separating future goals from reported 2025 results.

Stratasys has published operational environmental and safety goals for 2030 in its fifth annual ESG and Sustainability Report, released on November 4. The report uses 2023 as the baseline for its emissions and water targets, giving readers a defined reference point for tracking progress.

The company aims to cut combined Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse-gas emissions by 40% and absolute water consumption by 15% by 2030. It also sets a goal of diverting at least 55% of non-hazardous waste through reuse, recycling or energy recovery. That last measure includes several treatment routes and should not be presented as a recycling-only target.

A separate employee-safety goal seeks a total recordable incident rate below 0.40. These targets concern company operations; they do not establish a universal emissions saving for parts made on Stratasys printers.

Reported progress and the evidence behind it

The report describes results for the 2025 calendar year, although some qualitative information extends into 2026. Its water section records consumption of 39,444 cubic meters across measured sites, compared with 40,914 in 2024. The 2030 water target is 36,034 cubic meters against a 2023 baseline of 42,393. These figures distinguish annual progress from the remaining reduction required.

Stratasys also reports its first climate-risk assessment aligned with the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures. The analysis examines physical and transition risks across operations and the supply chain under alternative climate-policy scenarios. Scenario results support planning; they are modeled assessments rather than observed future outcomes.

The report states that its disclosed greenhouse-gas emissions underwent independent limited assurance by Motive Analytics. That defined assurance scope should be kept separate from a claim that every sustainability statement, customer application or product lifecycle result has been independently verified.

For additive-manufacturing users, the practical value is the ability to follow a supplier’s operational targets against disclosed baselines. Assessing the environmental performance of an individual printed part still requires an application-specific comparison of materials, energy, finishing, service life and the alternative production route.
