3D Printed Snare Drum Steals the Show

At this year's Rapid+TCT exhibition, Polymaker's booth made a big impression through sound — thanks to a custom 3D printed snare drum created by Voxel Percussion.

The studio precisely tailors each drum's acoustic characteristics by leveraging the internal geometries of the printed parts along with custom embedded features. Each drum takes several weeks to produce, undergoing post-processing to eliminate layer lines and reinforce the shell so it can withstand powerful, repeated strikes.

The final product excels both in appearance and acoustic performance, and the two parties are set to deliver even more collaborative innovations in the future.
