The Xi'an-based battery equipment developer plans to use the reported funding for technology development, capacity expansion and market growth, linking research in Xi'an with assembly in Changzhou and pilot validation in Guangzhou.

TOP.E, also known as Gaoneng Digital Manufacturing, has completed a Series B equity financing round of nearly RMB100 million, according to a November 2, 2026 report attributed to the Xi'an Center for Advanced Technology Commercialization. The report describes the round as recently completed; it does not identify an exact closing date or disclose a company valuation.

Named participants include Daqin Capital, identified as part of the direct-investment business of Shaanxi Caijin Investment, together with Changzhou Tianning Industrial Investment and Guangzhou Liwan Industrial Investment. The proceeds are intended for technology upgrades, production capacity and market development, with a focus on improving the development and delivery of dry-process equipment for solid-state batteries.

The company was among the center's first incubation partners under an agreement signed on February 15, 2025. The report describes support ranging from site arrangements and policy guidance to financing and connections with potential industrial partners.

From individual process steps to integrated lines

TOP.E's portfolio spans laboratory equipment, small-scale development systems, pilot lines and equipment intended for larger-scale battery manufacturing. Its focus is on coordinating process and equipment development as customers move from material research toward engineering validation.

Dry-electrode manufacturing involves several connected stages, including powder handling, binder fibrillation, film formation and lamination. The central challenge is to make those stages operate consistently with the selected material system. A successful individual machine does not, by itself, establish that a complete line can run continuously or produce qualified cells at commercial scale.

The report says TOP.E has developed 18 core proprietary technologies across dry-electrode processing, film formation and lamination, combined wet-and-dry preparation, and integrated line control. These are company-reported capabilities rather than independent performance benchmarks.

The business also has a connection to additive manufacturing. In a company-issued release dated July 18, 2023, TOP.E described an automated all-solid-state battery development platform using battery 3D printing. That earlier platform provides background to its technology portfolio; the current funding report is focused primarily on dry-electrode equipment and line integration.

A three-city development and delivery network

The operating model described in the report divides work among three locations: research and development in Xi'an, equipment assembly in Changzhou, and pilot validation in Guangzhou. This arrangement is intended to connect process development with equipment testing and customer feedback.

The company says its new Xi'an headquarters opened in 2026 and brings together close to 100 research and engineering personnel. The Changzhou operation has nearly 10,000 square meters of space for integrated equipment commissioning and process validation before delivery. The Guangzhou site is described as hosting a 200 MWh dry-electrode pilot demonstration line; the report does not specify the time basis for that capacity designation.

TOP.E identifies CATL, FAW, Farasis Energy, AESC and Lishen among its customers, alongside research institutes and universities. The report also cites company-reported order growth of more than 100% since the start of 2026, without defining the comparison period or disclosing the absolute order value. Order intake should therefore be distinguished from recognized revenue and accepted equipment deliveries.

The financing adds resources for the next phase of development, but the practical milestones remain equipment acceptance, repeat orders and stable operation with customer materials. Those outcomes will show how effectively TOP.E can translate process development into repeatable industrial delivery.
