In 2025, Farsoon Technologies achieved new progress in the field of additive manufacturing standards, with seven national standards in additive manufacturing that it participated in formulating officially released. This represents a significant accomplishment for the company in advancing the standardization system and provides strong support for the regulated and high-quality development of the additive manufacturing industry.

Notably, among these standards, Special Purpose Machine Tools – Safety Technical Requirements (GB 46037-2025) is a mandatory national standard with legal binding force. It specifies general safety requirements for the design, manufacturing, and use of additive manufacturing equipment, establishing clear "red lines" for production safety within the industry.

To date, Farsoon Technologies has led or participated in formulating a total of 22 national technical standards and five industry standards for additive manufacturing, covering key aspects across the entire industry chain, including equipment, materials, processes, and safety. The company has become a key participant in the development of China's national standards for additive manufacturing.
The seven newly released national standards address critical areas such as equipment specifications, raw material qualification, and sample preparation:

Additive Manufacturing – Technical Specifications for Multi-Beam Powder Bed Fusion Equipment and Qualification Technical Specifications for Metal Powder Bed Fusion Forming Machines focus on equipment, defining core technical requirements, inspection methods, and qualification procedures, providing a standardized basis for equipment stability and product consistency.

Polymer Additive Manufacturing – Raw Materials – Qualification of Materials for Laser Powder Bed Fusion standardizes quality inspection items and assessment criteria for polymer powders.

Polymer Additive Manufacturing – Qualification Principles – General Principles and Preparation of Specimens for Laser Powder Bed Fusion unifies specimen preparation processes and specification requirements.

Metal Additive Manufacturing – Correlation Between Mechanical Properties of Formed Parts and Their Sampling Direction and Location improves sampling rules for evaluating the performance of formed parts, enhancing the scientific comparability of test results.

Special Purpose Machine Tools – Safety Technical Requirements and Additive Manufacturing – Terminology (Revised) address gaps in safety production and industry terminology, respectively, improving standardization and safety in industry communication.

For industry users, the refinement of the standardization system brings multiple practical benefits:

Enhanced Quality Control: Unified equipment and material standards ensure product consistency and stability, reducing risks associated with production quality fluctuations.

Optimized Cost Structure: Standardized testing and evaluation systems minimize redundant investments in acceptance and verification processes, lowering costs from rework and waste due to inconsistent standards.

Improved Selection Efficiency: Clear technical parameters and qualification criteria streamline the equipment and material selection process, enhancing procurement decision-making efficiency.

Strengthened Safety Foundations: Strict safety technical requirements establish safeguards for personnel and equipment, preventing production safety incidents.

As a key contributor to the development of national additive manufacturing standards, Farsoon Technologies leverages its long-term expertise in technology R&D, manufacturing, and industrial application to actively participate in formulating industry standards. The company continues to contribute significantly to promoting the regulated and high-quality development of China's additive manufacturing industry.
