1000mm/s! eSUN's PLA-HF Hits the Scene

300, 600, 1000 mm/s – print speeds keep climbing, but faster isn't always better unless the filament can keep up.

Melt flow, extrusion stability, and cooling – if any link breaks, the print fails. Back in 2022, China-based eSUN was one of the first to roll out a high-speed filament series, with PLA-HS holding steady at 300 mm/s and PLA+HS still delivering solid quality at 350 mm/s. Then on August 5, 2026, PLA-HF officially dropped. Real-world tests on multiple mainstream machines show that at a practical 600 mm/s, it prints beautifully – and even when you crank it to 1000 mm/s “beast mode,” the surface stays clean, with no under-extrusion or layer gaps.

So what makes it both fast and good? The key is a big boost in flowability, paired with carefully controlled viscosity – so even at extreme melt rates, it doesn't get runny enough to string or ooze. Lower specific heat capacity means it heats up quickly but also cools down just as fast, shedding heat in time during high-speed runs to prevent warped corners or blurred details. Dimensional accuracy holds tight. Layer adhesion is no joke either – Z-axis tensile strength hits 32 MPa, so large models or marathon prints stay sturdy. Bed adhesion is strong, too, keeping peeling, curling, and shrinkage risks to a minimum.

These traits make PLA-HF genuinely useful. For big assemblies or multi-day prints, it can shave 30–50% off the clock without sacrificing precision or durability. Need to crank out anime figures, toys, or other parts in a hurry? The quick-cooling nature means even densely packed small parts don't suffer heat buildup on upper layers, and the solid bed grip keeps everything in place over long batch runs. For maker education or trade-show prop builds, time is money – high speed plus high reliability saves both material and headaches, even on large flat panels or structural components.

Bottom line: speed’s gone up, quality hasn’t come down. That’s the real deal with PLA-HF.
