In April 2026, Chinese accessory company Mintion officially launched the 3D Printer Filtration System V1, an external air filtration device designed specifically for desktop FFF printers.

It effectively reduces particulate matter and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) generated during printing. The product is available at a discounted price of approximately $75 USD and is now fully on sale.

Core Structure and Compatible Models

The V1 uses a three-stage composite filtration structure:

A pre-filter traps large particles

An H13 HEPA filter captures ultrafine particles (UFPs)

An activated carbon layer absorbs VOC gases

The device is equipped with a centrifugal fan that delivers a maximum airflow of 60 m³/h. The highest air speed through the filter layers is 10 m/s. Out of the box, it includes connection accessories compatible with Bambu Lab P1S and X1C models. The brand also offers additional adapter kits that support H2S, H2D, P2S, as well as several enclosed printers from Creality, Elegoo, and Prusa.

Measured Purification Performance

Mintion has conducted multiple internal performance tests. Tests used a Bambu Lab P1S printer with an MT15 air quality monitor placed inside the print chamber. Tested filaments included mainstream materials such as PLA, PETG, ABS, and ASA, with single print durations between 1 and 1.5 hours. The monitor recorded PM1.0, PM2.5, and total VOC (TVOC) data every five minutes.
The recorded data curves show that when the V1 fan power is maintained between 35% and 50%, the concentrations of airborne particles and TVOC are lower, and the data fluctuations are smaller. Compared to a printing environment without any filtration, the purification effect is significant.

Filament Compatibility and Filter Configuration

The activated carbon layer is specifically designed for high-emission printing materials. Styrene released by ABS and ASA, and caprolactam released by nylon filaments, are key targets of this filtration system. For users who frequently print with specialty filaments over long periods, the filter combination can be changed. By removing the pre-filter and replacing it with a double activated carbon layer, the system’s ability to capture harmful gases is strengthened.
For typical daily use of 8 hours with standard filaments, the entire filter set lasts about three months. Replacement filter sets are sold separately. The brand continuously updates its adapter database online, making it easier for more 3D printer models to achieve compatibility.
Mintion’s newly launched 3D Printer Filtration System V1 uses a three-layer filtration structure to achieve dual removal of particulate matter and harmful gases. The device is compatible with many mainstream desktop 3D printers and is specifically optimized for exhaust treatment of specialty filaments. Internal tests confirm stable purification performance. With replaceable filters and a wide range of adapter accessories, it provides a complete air purification solution for desktop FFF printing scenarios.
