Shapeways has outlined a shift toward low-volume hardware production, with its InShape software coordinating work across additive manufacturing, machining, finishing and assembly.

In an October 21 company update, Shapeways described production quantities ranging from one to 10,000 units. It says InShape connects quotation and engineering with production planning, quality control, warehousing and logistics, allowing customers to manage repeat orders within a shared workflow.

The strategy extends beyond supplying printed components to supporting more of the route from design to finished hardware. The company's stated service mix also includes design consultancy and light assembly.

Its Eindhoven premises form part of that transition. Shapeways says it signed the lease in June 2025; the October update presents the facility as infrastructure for its evolving business.
