Can Eyewear Truly Be "Customized for Your Eyes"? Breezm Ushers in the Era of At-Home Eyewear Scanning
The Korean eyewear brand Breezm has officially announced its entry into the U.S. market, launching nationwide operations. With a core focus on 3D scanning and 3D printing technology, Breezm had previously opened a concept store in New York. Now, Breezm has launched an iPhone application called "Breezm: Eyewear Made for You," enabling users to customize eyewear from the comfort of their homes.
Mobile Scanning, AI-Powered Matching
This app utilizes the iPhone's camera to scan the user's face, precisely measuring the distances between key facial feature points. Breezm's proprietary AI Fit Finder technology matches the user's face shape to the most suitable frame style from an extensive collection and makes targeted size adjustments based on the scan data.
Users enjoy a high degree of freedom within the app, selecting from 80 different colors and choosing from progressive lenses, reading glasses, regular prescription glasses, and sunglasses. After making their selections in the app, users can place orders directly, with the eyewear delivered to their doorstep. Breezm's eyewear starts at $198.
Official Statements
Breezm Co-CEO Zenma Hyungjin Park stated: "For decades, people have assumed that discomfort from wearing glasses is normal. But the truth is, no two faces are perfectly symmetrical, and eyewear shouldn't be designed only for the 'average face.' At Breezm, we design every frame around the individual, making glasses feel lighter, fit better, and integrate more naturally into daily life. Now, our app brings this experience to customers across the United States."
Silja Kim Bast, Chief Officer for Business Development, added: "The U.S. market has always been central to Breezm's vision. Our experience in New York City over the past two years has shown us how many people struggle with ill-fitting glasses—frames that slip, pinch, or simply feel uncomfortable, no matter how stylish they are. With our nationwide launch, we can finally address this need and serve customers across the country. Because everyone deserves eyewear that fits well and works beautifully."
Industry Outlook
Founded in 2017, Breezm currently operates 15 stores in Korea, with most eyewear manufactured in Seoul, having sold over 90,000 pairs to date. Brands like Mykita and Materialise have long explored 3D-printed eyewear, but the industry has faced technical challenges such as pupil center positioning, high defect rates, durability, and UV-resistant coatings, particularly the accurate measurement of pupillary distance (PD). If Breezm can effectively address this core pain point through its app, it will gain a significant competitive edge, truly advancing the mass adoption of customized eyewear.
