Formlabs' Fuse series, holding 55% of the global SLS market, underscores the company's accelerating dominance and standard-setting potential in 3D printing.

Formlabs announced that its Fuse Series Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) 3D printers now account for 55% of global SLS printer sales, demonstrating its industry leadership and growing market share in polymer powder bed fusion additive manufacturing. In August, the company's North American sales team achieved record-breaking performance, setting a new monthly sales record for SLS printers and further solidifying its leading position in the industry.
The Fuse series has become an industry benchmark, delivering low-cost, high-value solutions to customers across a wide range of applications. The adoption of SLS technology is accelerating, particularly in high-volume tooling and end-use part production. Organizations from startups to defense contractors have integrated the Fuse into their workflows. Specific use cases such as drone manufacturing and contract production have also contributed to the expansion of the large Fuse fleet. Importantly, utilization rates per printer are steadily increasing, indicating that customers continue to derive and even enhance the practical value of the system long after their initial purchase.

The success of the printer can be partly attributed to the Fuse series' unique competitive advantages. Although many companies have attempted to enter the market with their own SLS products, Formlabs consistently maintains a distinctive edge, achieving an unprecedented leadership position in its product category and price segment. The Fuse systems now account for over half of global SLS printer sales, with data indicating not only robust but growing market demand. This momentum has established Formlabs as an increasingly dominant player in the 3D printing industry, with the capacity to set de facto standards.
