Raise3D has released ideaMaker 5.5.3, an October 21 update that adds SLS preparation tools and revises FFF slicing. The company reports shorter preparation times, rather than faster physical printing.

Its release notes state 40–50% less slicing time for standard FFF models and at least twice-as-fast G-code preview loading. These are vendor claims, not independently benchmarked results.

For SLS, users can create a Part Box around selected parts and include it in the print report. The update also adds basic RMS220 remote functions, including printer discovery, manual addition and file upload.

A practical limit applies to the new detailed external FFF G-code preview: models must be re-sliced and exported again; existing G-code files do not gain the feature retroactively.

Version 5.5.3 is listed for Windows, Intel and Apple Silicon Mac, and 64-bit Ubuntu in the company download archive. The original release date is October 21.
