Company highlights TPI Design Gallery with 3D printing, modular smart eyewear, and white label options for retailers and designers
Tech Print Industries, a Netherlands- and U.S.-based manufacturer specializing in full-color, on-demand 3D printed eyewear, is showcasing its expanded digital manufacturing platform at MIDO 2026 starting with the TPI Design Gallery. The company’s exhibit this year centers on a “design-to-production” workflow that integrates virtual design tools, modular smart eyewear components, and zero-inventory manufacturing for optical retailers and private label partners.
At the heart of TPI’s presentation, the TPI Design Gallery is a web-based software platform that enables users to design, customize, and launch eyewear collections entirely online. The platform incorporates real-time visualization, shape and material adjustments, and an AI-driven photo shoot generator. The system is designed to accelerate product development and reduce material waste by linking digital design directly to additive manufacturing.
Expanding modular and smart eyewear
TPI’s latest modular design system introduces support for “smart temple” integration, allowing users to connect technology-enabled components such as sensors or audio modules without altering frame aesthetics. The company is also presenting new ready-to-print sunglasses and children’s eyewear lines, designed as white-label collections for retailers seeking customizable, lightweight, and durable frame options.
TPI’s production model emphasizes flexibility and sustainability through additive manufacturing. Frames are produced on demand in monochrome or full color, with localized production facilities in Europe and the United States to minimize lead times and overstock. The company describes the process as “no molds, no minimums, no waste,” highlighting its ability to produce only what is sold.
On-demand collections
In addition to its software and smart eyewear technologies, TPI is exhibiting designer collaborations and private label projects, including models created by Cecile Hoggenmuller of CEHO Studio and manufactured using TPI’s full-color 3D printing technology.
“We’re giving opticians, designers, and brands the tools to move faster and waste less, without giving up creative control,” said Marc Notenboom, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of TPI.
