Evology Manufacturing has purchased an EOS M 400-4 metal additive manufacturing system to expand capacity for customer production work. EOS announced the investment on October 22 and also named the Wisconsin contract manufacturer as a new member of its Production Partner Network.

The installation will bring Evology’s EOS fleet to ten systems: eight for metal and two for polymers. The announcement describes an expansion still to be installed; it does not establish that the additional machine is already producing customer parts.

The M 400-4 combines four 400-watt lasers with a 400 × 400 × 400 mm build volume. For Evology, the larger chamber extends the size of metal components it can take on compared with its existing M 290 equipment. The release does not provide a purchase price, installation date or measured productivity increase for Evology’s operations.

According to the announcement, demand from space-sector customers has increased the backlog on Evology’s M 290 fleet. The company links its investment decisions to maintaining short lead times as production demand grows. Its manufacturing services combine metal and polymer additive manufacturing with machining, tooling and assembly.

The purchase adds capacity and a larger build format to that service mix. Its effect on delivery performance will depend on installation and subsequent production use, rather than the machine order alone.
