Milan Bergamo Airport recently inaugurated a 3D printed service building named "Ol Casél," located within the airport's logistics park. The structure serves as a service module and rest area for customs personnel.

The project utilized WASP's Crane WASP platform for on-site printing. The core wall structure was completed in just seven printing days, with total construction time reaching only 19 days—significantly faster than conventional building methods. The structure was printed using a lime-based eco-friendly material, which offers a substantially lower carbon footprint compared to traditional cement.
Electrical wiring openings were integrated into the 3D printed structure during printing, eliminating the need for post-construction drilling. Windows, doors, and the roof were added after printing. The building's exterior retains the distinctive aesthetic of 3D printed architecture, featuring visible layer lines and curved surfaces.
The project was completed through a collaboration between WASP, EDILCO Srl, and the airport operator, demonstrating that construction 3D printing is viable even in highly regulated environments such as airports.
