On July 4, 2026, the Equipment Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially released the "2026 Annual Typical Cases of Innovative Machine Tool Products" list.

A total of 16 additive manufacturing equipment models were selected, including representative systems such as four‑laser stitching SLA forming machines.
The selection process went through multiple stages: application submission, formal review, expert evaluation, and public announcement. Ultimately, 147 innovative product cases were chosen from across the country. The selected equipment covers a wide range of technological routes, including metal additive manufacturing, vat photopolymerization, powder bed fusion, and others. This reflects tangible progress in the precision, productivity, and industrial readiness of Chinese 3D printing equipment.
The Equipment Industry Development Center stated that in the next phase, it will coordinate resources in areas such as technological R&D and market expansion, providing stronger guidance and support to the selected cases. Through multi‑channel promotion and publicity, the center aims to accelerate the large‑scale deployment of these innovative products in key sectors like aerospace, healthcare, and tooling.
The release of this list is not only a comprehensive review of China's independent innovation achievements in additive manufacturing, but also a clear signal from the national level to push forward the high‑end development of "machine tools." 3D printing is moving out of the laboratory and onto the shop floor, transitioning from prototyping aids to serial production – and it is becoming an indispensable force in the new landscape of smart manufacturing.
