China's ScanTech provided high-precision 3D scanning technology for the China-Egypt joint Saqqara archaeological project, enabling non-contact digital preservation of artifacts with exceptional detail while withstanding harsh environmental conditions.

After 20 Years of Construction, the Grand Egyptian Museum Opens | ScanTech Serves as Technical Support in China-Egypt Joint Saqqara Archaeological Project
At the archaeological site of Saqqara, accurately and non-invasively recording every detail of the artifacts and the site poses a core challenge for archaeologists. Innovation in digital technology is becoming key to addressing this challenge. In this context, ScanTech's high-precision 3D scanners are increasingly becoming an indispensable "technological eye" for archaeologists.
During the project, ScanTech's 3D scanners played a crucial role in digitization thanks to their non-contact nature, high resolution, and high precision. These characteristics enabled the scanners to cope with natural disturbances like wind and dust, as well as humidity, in Saqqara's complex environment, while achieving "zero-damage" data capture of painted wooden coffins and weathered stone carvings, fully demonstrating their technical advantages.

Taking the anthropomorphic painted wooden coffin as an example, ScanTech's 3D scanning technology not only completely captured macro-features such as the painted textures and surface structures of the sarcophagus but also precisely recorded subtle details of carved patterns and paint layers. From the complex and variable painted decorations to traces of natural degradation, ScanTech's 3D scanners, with their strong environmental adaptability and material compatibility, efficiently completed the data model acquisition tasks.

This process not only entirely avoided potential secondary damage to fragile artifacts that traditional measurement methods might cause but also preserved the true state of the discovered artifacts in a permanently reusable 3D digital form. Furthermore, these high-fidelity 3D data open new dimensions for subsequent archaeological research, significantly enhancing the efficiency and precision of archaeological work and providing a solid data foundation for interpreting ancient Egyptian civilization.

Technology is not only an engine driving us toward the future but also a bridge connecting and preserving the past. When Chinese innovative technology meets ancient Egyptian civilization on the banks of the Nile, it represents not just "a mutual journey between two great ancient civilizations" but also a heartfelt tribute from modern wisdom to historical treasures.

Looking ahead, ScanTech will continue to dedicate itself to the innovation and breakthrough of 3D digitalization technologies. Using the power of high-precision 3D digitization, it will jointly safeguard the brilliant stars of human civilization and persistently inject technological momentum into building a shared future for humanity.
