At the 2026 Formnext Shenzhen show in China, HAN'S MATRIX 3D brought two M420-series metal 3D printers: the green-light dual-laser M420G and the red-light 8-laser M420.
The M420G is the first-launched large-format green-light dual-laser system, aimed at mass production of copper and heat sinks. With two green lasers, a build envelope of 450 × 350 mm and a height of 400 mm, it can cover about 80%–90% of product needs in copper and commercial heat sink applications. Copper printing is more demanding on the gas flow field and optical system. This machine was redesigned in structural layout, optical path and gas flow field, with a focus on accuracy as well as stability and consistency in batch printing.
The M420 takes the red-light 8-laser route. It has the same build envelope of 450 × 350 × 400 mm and targets 3C (computers, communications and consumer electronics) and general industries, with a focus on cost performance and efficiency. Its optics, gas flow field, structure and overall layout were also significantly adjusted to better fit mass-production scenarios.
The booth covered a wide range of applications: shoe molds; titanium, stainless steel and mold steel craft parts; topology-optimized and lattice structures; and optical modules, heat sinks, heat exchanger plates and 3C parts. Heat sinks are a key focus for the green-light systems. The team did a lot of work on modular design, internal channels, and matching machine processes with factory production, and also optimized process parameters for microstructures and micro-holes. In consumer electronics, TC4 titanium alloy parts were printed on the M420; with a three-layer structure, nearly 700 parts can be produced in one build, showing strong efficiency and cost performance. 3C exhibits included hinges, watch cases and eyeglasses. Tang Jinglong believes that smart glasses will create demand for microstructures and embedded chips, and 3D printing has advantages in structural design and strength. The booth also showed carbon fiber-reinforced PA12 parts, which offer good strength while retaining a certain softness.
