AML3D Receives First ARCEMY X Order from Northrop Grumman

AML3D has secured its first ARCEMY X order from Northrop Grumman Marine Systems, following a competitive tender, according to the Australian manufacturer’s October 26 announcement.

The large-scale metal additive manufacturing system is intended to support the U.S. Navy’s submarine industrial base. AML3D will supply it from Stow, Ohio, for installation at Northrop Grumman’s Sunnyvale, California, facility. The package includes two years of maintenance and services.

Final installation is expected in the fourth quarter of AML3D’s 2027 financial year. Payment is staged, with 50% due when the initial project milestone is completed and subsequent payments through installation.

AML3D says its U.S. contracts now cover 17 ARCEMY systems. These are contracted systems, not a statement that all 17 are installed. The announcement concerns a machine order; it does not identify newly qualified production parts.
