The annual Ribfest in Esquimalt, Canada, fell victim to a fraud involving counterfeit 3D-printed tokens, resulting in the loss of thousands of dollars in charity funds for the organizers.

The authentic tokens, priced at $8 each for drink redemptions, were counterfeited using 3D printers for illicit profit, prompting an ongoing police investigation.
