On May 6, 2026, InfiMech, a company under Feixiong 3D in Zhejiang, China, announced that it will release two new FDM 3D printers in June — the InfiMech MX and MX Pro.

The MX Pro features eight independent print heads integrated into an automatic tool-changing system, enabling true multi-color / multi-material simultaneous printing. No flushing is required when switching colors, resulting in virtually zero filament waste.
Conventional multi-color printing uses a single nozzle that requires filament flushing to purge residual material. In a four-color print, the waste can easily weigh several times more than the model itself. Moreover, a single nozzle cannot print high-temperature and low-temperature materials simultaneously. The MX Pro takes a different approach: instead of flushing, it swaps the entire print head when switching colors or materials. This not only eliminates waste but also supports simultaneous printing of dissimilar materials such as PEEK and PLA .

Core technical specifications:

The MX Pro offers a build volume of 300×300×300mm, a fully enclosed structure, and an actively heated chamber for stable printing of engineering-grade filaments. Additional key features include eight automatically swappable toolheads arranged in a central configuration, induction heating (contactless), smart offset calibration for automatic nozzle alignment after tool changes, a two-speed adaptive extruder, nozzle sensors to detect buildup or clogs in real time, and AI‑assisted monitoring to identify print misalignments and foreign objects. Closed‑loop motors, automatic bed leveling, power‑loss recovery, and filament runout detection are also included.

Comparison of the two models:

MX (standard edition): 220×220×220mm build volume, 6 toolheads, semi‑open design

MX Pro (premium edition): 300×300×300mm build volume, 8 toolheads, fully enclosed with active chamber heating

This crowdfunding campaign aims to bring multi‑toolhead technology — previously only available in high‑end printers such as the Prusa XL — into a more accessible price range. Several Chinese manufacturers, including Snapmaker and Flashforge, have already launched independent four‑nozzle printers. InfiMech’s eight‑nozzle solution offers a more fundamental elimination of filament waste. The specific crowdfunding price and launch date have not yet been announced.
