Co Print Launches the Quadro: A "Zero-Waste" Game-Changer for Multi-Material 3D Printing

The renowned 3D printing brand Co Print has recently unveiled its latest flagship product—the Quadro 3D printer. Defined as a "bed-slinger," the device's standout feature is its four completely independent printing toolheads, designed to thoroughly address the notorious issue of material waste in multi-color and multi-material printing.
This marks a significant strategic pivot for Co Print. The company was previously best known for its successfully crowdfunded Chroma Kit—a multi-color upgrade kit compatible with various desktop printers. The Quadro, however, represents its official move from being an "upgrade kit" supplier to entering the integrated, whole-machine market.

Core Technology: The Four Independent Toolhead System

The Quadro's design departs from the mainstream technical approach of frequent material switching with a single nozzle. Its four toolheads share a single X-axis, but each possesses its own independent drive motor and control unit. During printing, only the active toolhead operates, while the others intelligently move to standby positions on either side of the build area.
Co Print claims this system fundamentally eliminates steps essential to traditional multi-material printing, such as cutting filament, purging old material, and cleaning nozzles, thereby achieving a near "zero-waste" workflow. More importantly, because the toolheads are entirely independent, users can set different temperatures for each. This means it is capable not only of color changes but also enables "true multi-material printing" using materials with different properties (such as support material and model material).
It is reported that integrating four independent motion systems onto a consumer-grade printer frame is an innovative attempt. To accommodate the idle toolheads, its X-axis has been specially lengthened in the design, ensuring that the build area will not be encroached upon.
